Enhancing REALTOR® Image and the Value of REALTOR® to Housing Consumers

In today's break neck technology environment, housing information is speeding by with little interpretation from professionals. Consumers like to be in control but should have a partner alongside to help steer them through the process.

I believe we need to do a better job of conveying that message to housing consumers and educating our own members about how to convey this as well. As part of your leadership team, I will work to ensure that we find new ways of reaching out to all ages and cultures of consumers, letting them know that we are here, and we are the experts.

A Total Commitment to Health Care for REALTORS®

As a breast cancer survivor, I know all too well, the cost of health. Being healthy, getting healthy or staying healthy should not be only for those in fortune 500 companies. Small business deserve parity with big business and the time is past due. As part of your leadership team I will work tirelessly to help build coalitions of support and educate and lobby our elected officials for a healthcare system that works for small business.

Members Must Never Doubt the Benefits of NCAR

When I hear people talking about MLS access as the only reason to join an association, I simply cannot believe my ears. With the educational and networking opportunities, the political access and advocacy, and professional designations, the Homes 4 NC Foundation, and so many other parts of NCAR for members to take part in and strengthen their careers, it amazes me that anyone would not take advantage. Yet, even with our improvements in communications, we need to continue reach out and show each licensee that there is something here for them ...

Continue to Strengthen the Relationship between NCAR and our Local Associations

Local associations are our eyes and ears in our communities, and NCAR serves them, not the reverse. We are fortunate to have a highly educated and professional NCAR staff, and are envied of this in the association world. Constantly striving for transparency with our business operations and fiduciary obligations is a critical part of maintaining that strong relationship with the local boards.

Going Green is not just for the Tree-Huggers

NC is blessed to have a magnificent diversity of landscapes. Being good stewards of these landscapes is a responsibility that belongs to all of us. Using processes and designs that minimize the impacts on our environment is smart and progressive. Being sensitive to flexibility and costs is also a responsibility we bear. Just as NAR built the first green building in Washington, D.C., we, as an organization, should be educating our members and our communities about green building and sustainability. Through exploration of national recognized programs such as LEED and Green Globes, we can offer housing consumers more choices and show our adaptive nature as an industry.
